The Mansion, Living

The original grandeur of this prestigious building set the bar for the refurbishment.

A selection of highly considered materials, colours and finishes gives the house a bespoke feel, creating an entirely unique experience and instilling a sense of home.

Restored heritage elements and a rich palette evoke a period feel, juxtaposed by the introduction of a sophisticated contemporary style to reimagine The Mansion as a home complete with all modern essentials.

A Rich History

Dating back to 1872 and positioned on the doorstep of Melbourne’s historic Fitzroy Gardens, The Mansion reflects East Melbourne’s prosperous past and the elevated living of its future.

A piece of Victorian history, 250 Albert Street was built and designed by architect W.T. Gore.

In the 1870s, wealth from Victoria’s goldfields allowed affluent merchants to display their status by building magnificent homes in the new suburb of East Melbourne. The Mansion at 250 Albert Street was among them.

The proportions of this prestigious residence speak to its illustrious past. Tall bay windows and Corinthian pillars are a distinctive expression of the classical Renaissance style, while the bright white façade references the traditional boulevard streets of East Melbourne.
